Crispy Baked Chickpeas

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper for heat

    Prepare Chickpeas: After rinsing the chickpeas, spread them out on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Gently pat them dry to remove excess moisture, as this will help them become crispy in the oven.

      Season Chickpeas: In a large bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Toss until the chickpeas are well-coated with the oil and spices.

        Bake: Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, shaking the pan or stirring the chickpeas halfway through to ensure even cooking.
