Ingredients

1 lb fresh white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tbsp lemon juice

Olive oil spray (or regular olive oil for brushing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat it with olive oil or spray.

Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the fillets into stick-shaped portions (about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long).

Set Up Breading Station: In three separate bowls, set up your breading station:

        - In the first bowl, place the flour seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

          - In the second bowl, beat the eggs and add the lemon juice.

            - In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with paprika and a pinch of salt.

              Bread the Fish Sticks:

                - First, coat each fish stick in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.

                  - Next, dip it into the egg mixture, making sure it's fully coated.

                    - Finally, roll the fish in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.

Bake the Fish Sticks: Arrange the coated fish sticks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray or brush with olive oil to enhance crispiness.

Cooking Time: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish sticks are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as tartar sauce or homemade remoulade, and enjoy your delicious crispy oven-baked fish sticks!
