Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)

A pinch of salt

1/2 cup granola or nuts (for added crunch, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. You can use a fork or a potato masher for this.

Combine Ingredients: Add the chia seeds, almond milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, maple syrup (if using), and salt to the mashed bananas. Mix well until everything is fully combined.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the chia seeds to absorb moisture and thicken the mixture.

Add Crunch (Optional): If desired, stir in the granola or chopped nuts for added texture.

Form the Bites: Once the mixture has thickened, use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to portion out the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Shape them into small bite-sized rounds.

Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 2-3 hours, or until the bites are completely frozen.

Store and Serve: Once frozen, transfer the chia bites to an airtight container or a zip-top plastic bag. They can be stored in the freezer for up to a month. Enjoy them straight from the freezer as a refreshing snack!
