Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth and well combined. This will be your marinade.

Place the salmon fillets in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish, and pour the marinade over the salmon. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for a stronger flavor).

Preheat your grill or oven to 375°F (190°C). If grilling, lightly oil the grill grates or use a grill basket.

Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade for basting. Allow excess marinade to drip off. Season the fillets with salt and pepper.

If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade halfway through cooking. If baking, place the salmon fillets on a lined baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill/oven and let rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened (about 5-7 minutes).

Serve the salmon drizzled with the thickened marinade and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy with steamed rice or fresh vegetables!
