Honey Mustard Turkey and Cheddar Melts

8 slices of whole grain bread

12 oz sliced turkey breast

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tbsp mayonnaise

2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh arugula or spinach (optional)

Pickles for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Adjust to taste by adding more honey or mustard, if desired.

    Assemble the Sandwiches: Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface. Spread a generous amount of the honey mustard sauce on each slice. Layer with sliced turkey breast, followed by the sharp cheddar cheese. If using, add a handful of fresh arugula or spinach for added freshness.

      Top and Press: Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top of the loaded slices to create sandwiches.

        Prepare for Grilling: In a small bowl, mix olive oil with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Brush the olive oil mixture lightly on the outside of each sandwich.

          Grill the Sandwiches: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwiches on the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and crispy. Flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes, pressing down gently with a spatula to ensure even grilling.

            Melt the Cheese: Once both sides are golden and crispy, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt completely.
