Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 1 medium lemon

1 teaspoon sea salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss to coat the sprouts evenly.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not overcrowded for even roasting.

Roast: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Add Cheese (Optional): In the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts if you’re using it. Return to the oven to allow the cheese to melt and become slightly crispy.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven, transfer them to a serving dish, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
