Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 oz)

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup diced tomatoes

¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)

¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Sour cream, for serving

Salsa, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly greasing a baking tray with cooking spray.

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add the ground beef (or turkey), breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.

Season the Meat: Drain any excess grease from the skillet. Add the taco seasoning along with the water recommended on the packet (usually 2/3 cup). Stir well and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles, laying them on a clean surface with the wide end facing you.

Fill the Rolls: Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the seasoned meat mixture at the wider end of each triangle. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the meat. If desired, add a few diced tomatoes and black olives for extra flavor.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide edge, carefully roll each triangle towards the point, tucking in the sides as you go. Ensure the filling is tucked neatly inside to prevent spilling.

Bake: Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with chopped cilantro if using. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side for dipping.
