Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin puree

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup whole milk

3/4 cup brown sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: Whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice for serving

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and whole milk. Whisk until smooth.

Add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mixture, whisking until all ingredients are well combined.

Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the custard mixture.

Pour the custard mixture into individual ramekins or a large baking dish. If using ramekins, place them in a baking tray filled with hot water to create a water bath, which will help the custard cook evenly.

Carefully transfer the baking tray to the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the custard is set in the center (a toothpick should come out clean).

Remove from the oven and allow the custard to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Serve chilled with a dollop of whipped cream on top and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice for an extra touch of flavor.
