Ingredients

10 chicken drumsticks

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top to elevate the chicken for even cooking.

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl. Pour about two-thirds of the honey mustard mixture over the drumsticks, ensuring they are well-coated. Reserve the remaining marinade for basting. Seal the bag (or cover the bowl) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Arrange for Baking: Remove the drumsticks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Arrange them on the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Drumsticks: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, baste the drumsticks with some of the reserved marinade. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown, cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C), and the glaze is sticky.

Broil for Extra Color: For an extra caramelized glaze, turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Drizzle with any leftover glaze and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
