Ingredients

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

1 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they're well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for extra flavor).

Preheat the Oven: When you're ready to cook, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Sear the Chicken: In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and add them skin-side down to the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy.

Add Pecans: Flip the chicken thighs over, and scatter the chopped pecans around them in the skillet. Pour the reserved marinade over the chicken and pecans.

Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is cooked through. Baste the chicken with the sauce halfway through the cooking time for added flavor and glossiness.

Glaze and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Let it rest for 5 minutes. For an extra sticky glaze, you can broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Enjoy!: Serve your sticky maple pecan chicken thighs with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad to balance the richness of the dish.
